ABOUT THIS PROJECT: Audacity commissioned a handful of writers from around the country to fill the mouth and mind of the Smartest Man in the whole damn world. The only stipulation was that submissions be a half to one page monologue in length. Out of numerous submissions, Wes Copeland and Brad McEntire then worked together to find running themes in the seemingly unrelated works, compiling six of them into a free-form loose narrative. The outcome is an experiment in stream-of-conscious theatre as the Smartest Man, alone and working against the clock and within himself, shifts back and forth between the past and present, spouting his views, observations, musings, accusations, and fore-tellings of a world gone mad.
