During
the summer of 2000 the New York International Fringe Festival invited Audacity
to world-premiere screenwriter-turned-playwright, Lief Woods' dark work SLICK
KADMON V. GOD.
Teaming up with
New York based theatre group Pop Culture Poets, Audacity Productions
stepped up to the international level with this serio-comic morality tale about
a midwestern farmboy who is tricked into suing God for "Breach of Contract."
The court battle that insued explored Slick's search for answers in a world
he does not understand. The verdict of the case
was
decided by the jury (the audience) so the play could end differently from one
performance to the next performance. There was an ending if the jury voted for
the Prosecution, one in the favor of the Defendant, or a "hung jury"
ending, just in case. All three were implemented over the course of the play's
run.
